Three free conferences are being held to bring together community food-growing and healthy eating projects across Swindon and Wiltshire.

Rowena Ganguli, Founder and Trustee of the London Orchard Project, will be the key-note speaker for the Orchard Conference event on 27th April which includes workshops on a range of topics from setting up community orchards to cooking up feasts from the fruits.

The key note speaker, for the Local Food Network events on 8th and 30th May is Professor Martin Caraher of City University, London. A Professor at the Centre for Food Policy, he has worked extensively on local sustainable food systems.

The events are being organised by the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust which is helping to establish Community Growing Sites across the region to teach basic gardening and cookery skills. The Trust is also working to regenerate orchards planted with traditional Wiltshire apple varieties.
