Manchester’s Dig the City show garden to bloom again in Piccadilly Basin

by

A garden, with lots of balcony-style planting, which proved a popular attraction at the City’s recent urban gardening festival, is to be given a permanent home as part of Manchester’s Garden City Project.

Dreamscape Gardens’ Show Garden will now be relocated and handed over to the care of a local gardening group – the Northern Quarter Greening Group.

“We were overwhelmed by the positive feedback from visitors to Dig the City. Having seen how much people enjoyed our garden and how it has inspired people to try gardening themselves, we’re thrilled the garden has found a new home in the Northern Quarter and are delighted local residents will help to look after it,” said Dan Newby owner of Dreamscape Gardens.

Volunteers are encouraged to get involved – anyone interested in the Manchester Garden City ‘spruce up’ gardening day - 12pm - 4pm on Saturday 24 August is invited to email [email protected] for details.

Activities on the day will include wood-staining benches, laying bark, clearing weeds and watering and general maintenance of the new Dreamscape legacy garden in Piccadilly Basin.
